A Confirmation Statement is a document that Limited Companies must file at Companies House each year – generally online using the ‘authentication code’. It replaced the old Annual Return in 2016.
It confirms if the statutory information is the same, or if there are any updates to the Directors, shares, shareholder information, people with significant control (PSC) or the company Registered Office address.
There is no penalty for filing the Confirmation Statement late, however, if you don’t file the document on time, Companies House threaten to take legal action against the company directors and could close down the company.
